Time off for Good Behavior?

So this is the "off week". Ken does not have chemo this week. I think that we will all really enjoy his down time. He feels much better now, but his appetite has been affected. He seems to be searching for some food that will go down okay. He is especially grateful for an extra week of down time, because I called and got permission to move his next chemo session back a week, so that he can go to a Father and Sons campout on April 25, and 26th and enjoy himself. I think that he is looking forward to a little time for normal life.

I bet that you will be looking forward to the off weeks. Enjoy the next one especially with your boys. I guess it is really important to make life as normal as circumstances will let you. We miss being there and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Just a side note, it has snowed on and off today. I bet you are jealous.

We hope you enjoy having some down time and that you have a great outing. My dad struggles with nausea and he hasn't even started chemo yet! Needless to say he isn't looking forward to it. We pray for you and hope that you are able to continue getting better. Thanks for the comments on my dad's blog-we read them to him and they seem to help to know what to expect. All of our best-

Hang in there buddy, sounds a lot like terrible morning sickness. My doc put me on Zophran which now has a generic for throwing up and nausea during the day and phendromine at night (isn't as strong but causes some drowsiness). It actually helped a lot, I could still eat and avoid throwing up quite so much. I know Zophran is specifically used for chemo patients. Like pregnancy the pain is worth the outcome...just hang in there!!

Ken,

I don't know if you remember me from the good old Phoenix 1st Ward Priest Quorum days, but I happened on to your webpage by accident and wanted to say hello. Sorry to hear about your illness. I had a little issue with cancer four years ago, had to go to Boston for some treatment and have felt great ever since.

Send me an email when you feel up to it.

Hang in there, I am praying for you.

I am glad you got an off week. Enjoy being up camping. I know that is something you enjoy. Melanie and I are always thinking about you and wishing you the best. Keep as positive as you can. You'll get through this.

Much love,

Your brother,

I am glad to hear he will have that time off to enjoy a few weeks of normalcy. I also think that is pretty awesome that he's going to go to the campout. I'm sure the boys will be happy to have him there! Wish I could be closer to support you and your family, but I'm sending love and light your way!
Love you guys a lot!
